How to unblock SyFy with Proton VPN

The SyFy(new window) channel is a cable TV channel that specializes in sci-fi, fantasy, and horror shows and movies. It also has an online streaming service where you can watch some of its most popular shows and movies. It is the home of shows like Battlestar Galactica, The Magicians, Futurama, andXena: Warrior Princess. All you need to do is sign in to their site through your account with your cable provider, and you can stream any of these shows and more on demand.

Proton VPN users can securely and privately watch any of their favorite SyFy content no matter where they are!

How to watch SyFy with Proton VPN

Connect to any Plus server located in the United States. Plus servers are available for Plus, Unlimited, Duo, Family, and Visionary Plan subscribers.

Step 1:

Get a paid Proton VPN subscription.

If you already have a VPN Plus, Proton Unlimited(new window), Duo, Family, or Visionary (legacy users only) account, you can skip to step 2.

If you’re a new user, sign up for Proton VPN.

If you already have a Free plan, upgrade your account by signing in and selecting the desired plan from your account Subscription page.

Step 2:

Install our VPN app

If you have already installed our apps, you can skip to step 3.

You need to download the Proton VPN app for your operating system. You can securely stream your favorite shows on Windows, macOS, on your TV (Android/Apple), and Linux devices or on the go with an Android or iOS device.

Step 3:

Register your TV provider with SyFy.

To access all of SyFy shows, you’ll need to have an account with a participating US TV provider. If you live in the US and the SyFy channel is part of your subscription package from a participating TV provider, you’ll be able to access all of SyFy’s on-demand streaming content. (This is assuming your TV subscription is in good standing.)

You can also access SyFy if you have a Hulu + Live TV(new window) account. You can access Hulu with Proton VPN as well.

A limited number of shows are available for free to users that do not have an account with a participating TV provider.

Step 4:

Start watching SyFy securely with Proton VPN!

Connect to a Plus server in the US, log in to SyFy, then kick back and relax.

If you experience issues watching SyFy, please try the following:

Restart Proton VPN application and VPN connection
Clear your browser cache
Use a different browser
Use your browser’s Incognito or Private Mode
Turn off any adblockers or similar plug-ins your browser might be using
Restart your device
Clear your DNS cache
