Apps are available for Android, iOS and iPadOS, and Android TV (premium subscribers only).
RTL+ offers a limited selection of “free” ad-supported content, but to access most content, you’ll need a premium subscription.

3. Log in to Proton VPN and connect to any server located in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, or Luxembourg. You can do this using our desktop client or our browser extension.
4. Visit the RTL+ website at tvnow.de(new window) and either sign up for a free account (if you don’t already have one) or sign in using your Amazon account login details. To access most content available on the platform, you’ll need to upgrade to a premium subscription.

How to watch RTL+ with Proton VPN on iOS and Android
RTL+ apps are available for Android(new window) and iOS and iPadOS(new window), but you can only download them from the Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, or Luxembourg App or Play Stores.

The RTL+ app for Android TV is available in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, or Luxembourg, but you’ll need a premium RTL subscription to use it.

2. Connect to a server in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, or Luxembourg. To do this, you’ll need a Proton Plus plan. If you already have a Free plan, upgrade your account by signing in and selecting VPN Plus or Proton Unlimited from your account Subscription page.

Troubleshooting RTL+ streaming problems
If RTL+ doesn’t work after following the above steps, try the following troubleshooting options.
- Restart the Proton VPN app and start a new VPN connection.
- If you are accessing RTL+ via your browser, try clearing your browser cache(new window).
- Restart your device.
- Clear your DNS cache (Windows, Mac, or Linux).
