How to unblock Channel 4 (All 4+) with ProtonVPN

Channel 4 is one of the four major television services in the UK, after BBC, BBC Two, and ITV. Its free online streaming service is known as All 4 and its premium streaming service is All 4+. You can watch The Great British Bakeoff and The IT Crowd on All 4.

ProtonVPN users can watch some of their favorite British shows online at Channel 4!

How to watch Channel 4 with ProtonVPN

Connect to any Plus server located in the United Kingdom. Plus servers have a P icon next to them in our macOS and Windows apps. They can be found in the Plus servers list on our Android apps. On your Android TV (app currently in beta testing), connecting to United Kingdom will automatically connect you to a Plus server if you have the right subscription.

Plus servers are available for Plus and Visionary Plan subscribers. For the fastest and most reliable connection, please connect to the server that is closest to your current location. To find the nearest servers to you, check the full list of our servers.

Step 1:

Get a ProtonVPN Plus or Visionary subscription

If you already have a Plus or Visionary ProtonVPN account, you can skip to step 2.

If you’re a new user, sign up for ProtonVPN.

If you have a Free or Basic plan, upgrade your account by logging in and selecting Plus or Visionary from your account Dashboard.

Step 2:

Install our VPN app

If you’ve already installed one of our apps, you can skip to step 3.

You need to download the ProtonVPN app for your operating system. You can securely stream your favorite shows on Windows, macOS, and Linux devices or on the go with an Android device.

If you have an Android TV, you can join the beta testing program and install the app directly on your device. If you already have our app, you can skip to step 3.

Note: The ProtonVPN app for iOS doesn’t officially support streaming at the moment. 

Step 3:

Start watching your favorite British shows online with your VPN!

Connect to a Plus server in the UK and catch all your favorite British content on Channel 4.

Optional – Step 4:

Buy an Channel 4 subscription

You can watch Channel 4 online for free. But if you want to skip ads or watch live TV, you’ll need 4 All+, which costs £3.99 per month.

Note: Some shows, especially All 4’s on-demand content, require users’ devices to be in the UK time zone. If you encounter a “clock error” message, open up your device’s settings and change your time zone to London or Dublin GMT+1hr. The device clock should get updated within a few minutes of making these changes, but it may take longer in some time cases.

If you experience issues watching Channel 4, please try the following:

– Restart the ProtonVPN app and start a new VPN connection
