How to unblock Crunchyroll with Proton VPN

Crunchyroll is an American streaming platform that primarily streams anime and manga content. You can stream Crunchyroll for free without creating an account, although some shows in the Crunchyroll library are only available with a paid account (starting at $7.99 per month). Crunchyroll is not available in all locations, but you can unblock the streaming service by connecting to one of the Proton VPN streaming servers in the United States.

1. If you haven’t already, you need to download and install Proton VPN for your device. 

2. To use streaming services via Proton VPN, you will need a Plus plan. If you already have a Proton VPN Free plan, you can upgrade your account by logging in and selecting Plus from your account dashboard.

3. Log in to Proton VPN and connect to any Plus server located in the United States.

You can find Plus servers under the Plus servers header in the Proton VPN Windows, macOS, and Linux apps.

4. Visit the Crunchyroll website at https://www.crunchyroll.com/. If you want to access the entire Crunchyroll catalog, you will also need to sign up for a paid account. However, you can watch some content on Crunchyroll with a free account or without creating an account at all.

5. Search or browse for your favorite anime show to stream securely with Proton VPN!

How to watch Crunchyroll with Proton VPN on iOS and Android

1. If you haven’t already, you need to download and install Proton VPN for your device. 

2. To use streaming services via Proton VPN, you need a Plus plan. If you already have a Proton VPN Free plan, you can upgrade your account by logging in and selecting Plus from your account dashboard.

3. Log in to Proton VPN and connect to any Plus server located in the United States. You can find Plus servers in the Plus servers list on the Android and iOS apps.

4. Download the Crunchyroll app for your device:

Note: The Crunchyroll iOS app and the Crunchyroll Android app are only available in locations that Crunchyroll currently supports.

5. On the homepage of the app, you can select Create account, Login, or Browse Crunchyroll. Selecting Browse Crunchyroll will allow you to watch some content without the need to log in. To access more content and special features, you can create an account or sign up for a premium account.

How to watch Crunchyroll with Proton VPN on Android TV

2. Connect to a Plus server located in the United States using your Android TV device. To connect to our Plus servers, you need a Plus plan subscription. You can get a Plus plan here or upgrade your current Proton VPN plan by logging in and selecting Plus from your dashboard.

3. Install the Crunchyroll app on your Android TV device and create an account if you don’t already have one. 

4. Open the Crunchyroll app and log in to your account or start browsing straight away. You can now watch all your favorite anime securely on your Android TV with Proton VPN!

Troubleshooting Crunchyroll streaming problems

If Crunchyroll does not work after following the above steps, try the following troubleshooting options.

1. Restart the Proton VPN app and start a new VPN connection.

2. If you are accessing Crunchyroll via your browser, try clearing your browser cache.

3. Restart your device.

4. Clear your DNS cache (Windows, Mac, or Linux).
