This guide shows you how to install the official Proton VPN Linux CLI (command-line utility).

The Proton VPN Linux CLI is available for the following platforms:
You can install both the official Proton VPN Linux GUI app and the Linux CLI, but you can’t run them both at the same time.
Other platforms
In practice, the Proton VPN Linux CLI works on many Linux distributions that are not officially supported. We encourage you to experiment with these, but you may encounter bugs and support may be limited. The app has the following dependencies:
The app may work with KDE Wallet (instead of gnome-keyring), but this is not officially supported. Currently, the CLI doesn’t work on headless setups.
How to install the Linux CLI on Arch
Simply open a terminal window and run:
pacman -S proton-vpn-cli
