ProtonVPN has eight servers in Greece.

You can now securely browse the Internet using a Greek IP address(new window), no matter where you are in the world. Greece is the 41st country to join the Proton VPN network. These servers increase service and address latency for our users in Southern Europe.

We installed eight new VPN servers in a data center in Athens. They are available to users on one of our paid plans(new window). Each new server we install increases our capacity for new users and improves service for our current users.

GR#1-3 are available on our Basic plan.
GR#4-8 are available on our Plus and Visionary plans.

Update March 2021: We now also offer servers in Cyprus(new window).

Why servers in Greece are important

You can use these new servers in Greece to browse the Internet with a Greek IP address and avoid geo-restrictions. Greek users who are traveling will be able to keep up with their local news, run Internet searches in their native language, and watch their favorite TV shows from home. If you have a Proton VPN Plus or Visionary plan, you get exclusive access to servers GR#4-8 for higher speeds. You can also securely stream your favorite content on the German, UK, or US version of Netflix(new window) or Hulu(new window) by connecting to a Plus server in the appropriate country.

Proton VPN Plus and Visionary users not only can stream their favorite movies, but they can also activate our Secure Core(new window) feature. Secure Core allows you to add an extra layer of security to your online activity. First, it routes your Internet traffic through hardened servers before sending it on to an exit server in your desired country. These servers are controlled and owned by Proton VPN, making it less likely that an attacker could access them. By routing user traffic through two servers, Proton VPN gives its users an extra layer of protection.
