How to change the currency for your paid plan

When you buy or upgrade to a paid Proton VPN plan, you can pay for it in euros (EUR), US dollars (USD), or Swiss francs (CHF). Depending on your region, you may also be able to pay using your local currency.

How to choose a currency when upgrading from Proton VPN Free

To select currency when upgrading to a paid plan:

1. Sign in to account.protonvpn.com using your Proton account username and password, and go to Home → Upgrade your privacy. From here, you can either Upgrade to a Proton VPN Plus plan directly or click Compare all plans to see our full selection of premium options.

2. If you click Compare all plans, you can compare plans in your preferred currency by selecting it from the dropdown menu.

3. You can also change the currency on the checkout screen once you select a plan. Simply select it from the dropdown menu in the payment Summary section. Proton VPN will use this currency for all future payments unless you change it again.

How to change the currency for an existing paid plan

You can change the currency that your current plan renews with. If you change to another plan, you can change the currency you pay in.

1. Sign in to account.protonvpn.com using your Proton account username and password and go to Subscription Your plan → Edit billing cycle.

2. Select your preferred currency from the dropdown menu in the Summary section. Proton VPN will use this currency for all future payments unless you change it again.

Note: When you choose a new plan, the plan will start immediately. If you still have time left on your old plan, prorated credit for it will be deducted from the cost of your plan.
