Malaysia is the 50th country to join the Proton VPN network

The Proton VPN network continues to grow. With the addition of Malaysia, we now have servers in 50 countries on six continents. You can connect to these new servers to protect all your online browsing, including when you use public WiFi(new window). You now have more choices in how you secure your online activity in Southeast Asia.

We installed eight new VPN servers in a data center in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

They are available to users on one of our paid plans(new window). Each new server we install increases our capacity for new users and improves the service for our current users.

MY#1-3 are available on our Basic plan.
MY#4-8 are available on our Plus and Visionary plans.

The benefits of VPN servers in Malaysia

Malaysian society is swiftly moving online. According to the World Bank(new window), in 2000 only 21 percent of Malaysians regularly used the Internet. In 2018, it was 81 percent. Proton VPN provides protection and privacy to these new users while allowing them to browse the Internet with a Malaysian ISP.

More about Proton VPN and how to sign up

Proton VPN is a secure, community-supported VPN service. It was developed by the same team that created Proton Mail, the world’s largest encrypted email provider. We offer the only free VPN service that does not have data caps, bandwidth limits, privacy-invading ads, or log user activity.

Our security and privacy tools will always be free. This is a crucial part of our mission to bring online freedom to everyone.

All Proton VPN apps are open source(new window) and have undergone a thorough audit by the respected security firm SEC Consult(new window). We made our apps open source because it demonstrates our dedication to transparency. Anyone can review our apps’ code and ensure they do exactly what we claim they do. This transparency also enhances our apps’ security, as cybersecurity experts from all over the world can now scrutinize our code. This means potential vulnerabilities are quickly spotted and fixed. We do this so that you can be confident that our apps will keep your online browsing secure and private.

Joining is easy. Click the signup button below. Or if you already have an account and want to upgrade to access premium features, like Secure Core, click upgrade.
