Unlike the full Proton VPN app, which uses its own VPN protocols, the extension works within your browser and relies on its built-in security. As a result, you’ll need a reasonably up-to-date browser (one that supports TLS 1.2 or above). Almost any browser updated since 2015 meets this requirement.
