Congratulations to all our users who voted for South Korea, which came in at #5 in our Proton VPN server poll. We continue to add more servers based on the results of that poll, so check this blog each week to see where we will install new VPN servers next.

The four new VPN servers in South Korea(nouvelle fenêtre) are housed in Seoul and reserved for users with one of our paid plans:

KR #1 is available for Basic plans
KR #2-4 are available for Plus and Visionary plans

Why South Korea?

South Korea is one of the most connected countries in the world. As our subscriber base grows, especially in East Asia, these servers will keep VPN connections moving with the same high speeds our users have come to expect. For Koreans traveling abroad, our servers will let you stay up to date with news and events via all your favorite Korean websites that otherwise might be geo-restricted. Finally, these servers provide users in Asia more options to securely browse the Internet.

Our South Korean servers are only accessible to users with paid accounts. If you’re a Proton VPN Plus subscriber, you will have exclusive access to servers KR#2-4. You’ll also have the additional security of our Secure Core servers, which route traffic through multiple servers that we own and provision, preventing your identity and data from being exposed to sophisticated attackers.
