How to install the Proton VPN GUI app on Arch

Our Linux app with a graphical user interface (GUI) is available for Arch Linux via a package maintained by Peter Jung(nytt fönster), which Proton VPN officially supports. It should also work on most Arch-based distributions, though these are not officially supported.

Note that we also offer the Proton VPN CLI, a command-line tool that runs from the Linux terminal.

To install the GUI app, open a terminal window and run:

pacman -S proton-vpn-gtk-app

Note that the Linux GUI app requires the gnome-keyring(nytt fönster) (it may also work with KDE’s KWallet, but this is not officially supported).

To use split tunneling (optional), systemd-resolved(nytt fönster) is also required.
