How to unblock RAI with Proton VPN

Radiotelevisione italiana, or RAI, is the national public broadcasting company of Italy. It also has a free streaming and video-on-demand service, RaiPlay, that you can use to watch classics like Il Commissario Montalbano or Tutto Può Succedere.

Proton VPN users can watch all their favorite shows on RAI no matter where they are!

Additionally, Proton VPN also enables you to stream Disney+, Max, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video.

How to watch RAI with Proton VPN

Connect to any Plus server located in Italy. Plus servers are available for Plus, Unlimited, Duo, Family, and Visionary Plan subscribers.

Step 1:

Get a paid Proton VPN subscription

If you already have a VPN Plus, Proton Unlimited(nuova finestra), Duo, Family, or Visionary (legacy users only) account, you can skip to step 2.

If you’re a new user, sign up for Proton VPN.

If you already have a Free plan, upgrade your account by signing in and selecting the desired plan from your account Subscription page.

Step 2:

Create an RaiPlay account

If you already have a RaiPlay account, you can skip to step 3

To watch RAI online, you’ll need an RaiPlay account. RaiPlay(nuova finestra) is free, and your account can be used to listen to RAI’s radio programming as well.

Step 3:

Install our VPN app

You need to download the Proton VPN app for your operating system. You can securely stream your favorite shows on Windows, macOS, and Linux devices, or with your Android or iOS devices. If you have an Android TV, you can join the beta testing program and install the app directly on your device.

Start watching RAI securely with Proton VPN!

Now you’re ready to safely stream RAI shows with Proton VPN. Just connect to a server in Italy, log in to RaiPlay, and kick back and relax.

If you experience issues watching RaiPlay, please try the following:

Restart Proton VPN application and VPN connection
Clear your browser cache
Use a different browser
Restart your device
Clear your DNS cache
