NetShield Ad-blocker blocks more phishing attempts
Are you worried about falling for a phishing attack? We’ve expanded the list used by our NetShield Ad-blocker DNS filtering feature so that it now blocks almost all known phishing(新しいウィンドウ) domains. Simply turn NetShield on for peace of mind, knowing that if you accidentally visit a site that contains phishing scripts, it simply won’t load.
Longer lasting batteries
You can now stay protected on your phone at all times. Recent improvements to our Android and iOS apps mean that when you’re out and about and using a mobile (cellular) connection, your phone will wake up less when its supposed to be idle, thus conserving battery power while Proton VPN works in the background to protect your privacy.
Further tips for reducing battery drain while using our apps include:
- Use WiFi when you can — it uses less power than cellular/mobile data connections
- Use WireGuard® — this newer VPN protocol is much more lightweight and energy-efficient than OpenVPN
- Don’t worry about heavy data use — using a lot of mobile data (for example when streaming Netflix or gaming) might make a big difference to your provider’s bill, but it makes negligible difference to how much battery power the Proton VPN app drains

Our engineers have identified a combination of network conditions and configurations that prevented some of our community members from gaining the full benefit of our high-speed network.
To address this, Proton VPN now detects when these conditions and configurations occur, and will automatically reconfigure the connection to ensure to that everyone can enjoy the best possible speed performance when connected to our servers.
