ProtonVPN has eight servers in Mexico.

Browse the Internet securely with a Mexican IP address

We are happy to announce the installation of new VPN servers in Mexico. Mexico was the most popular country in our latest Proton VPN servers poll(nouvelle fenêtre).

The expansion into Mexico is part of our recent drive to add more servers(nouvelle fenêtre) to help our users deal with COVID-19 lockdowns. Mexico is the 48th country to join the Proton VPN network, and our VPN servers there will reduce latency for our users in the Americas.

The eight new servers in Tuxtla Guiérrez, Chiapas, are available to users who have one of our paid plans(nouvelle fenêtre). Each new server we install increases our capacity for new users and improves service for our current users.

MX#1-3 are available on our Basic plan.
MX#4-8 are available on our Plus and Visionary plans.

The benefits of servers in Mexico

Not only was Mexico in high demand from the Proton community, we are happy to add Mexican VPN servers because of the country’s position on Internet access. Even though it can be difficult for many Mexicans to connect in rural areas, Mexico was one of the first countries in the world to declare Internet access is a human right(nouvelle fenêtre).

Now that these new servers have come online, Mexicans can protect their online browsing from online trackers with an extra layer of encryption. Connecting with a Mexican IP address also gives you access to more streaming content and better speeds for those who live there.

Proton VPN Plus or Visionary users can activate our Secure Core(nouvelle fenêtre) feature. Secure Core allows you to add another layer of security because it routes your Internet traffic through a hardened server before sending it on to an exit server in your desired country. These hardened servers are controlled and owned by Proton VPN, making it less likely that an attacker could access them. By routing your traffic through two servers, Proton VPN offers you protection from even advanced network attacks.
