As a community-supported VPN service, we are here to serve you and we take your feedback very seriously. That’s why we always strive to let the community participate in product development and decide how Proton VPN should evolve. Whether it’s letting you choose(nouvelle fenêtre) where to put new VPN servers or inviting you to help improve new apps(nouvelle fenêtre), we take your feedback seriously.

The beta program gives you early access to new servers, UI updates, stability improvements, and more. Whenever our developers release new versions of these applications to our team for internal testing, you will receive updates at the exact same time. You’ll be the first to get to try out new features, like OpenVPN on iOS(nouvelle fenêtre) or Smart Protocol for Android.

Below you can find instructions on how to join our beta program and see the latest developments from the Proton VPN team. The beta program is now open to all Proton VPN users, regardless of the plan you are on.

How to use the Proton VPN beta for Windows

To get early access to new features in the Proton VPN Windows app, all you have to do is:

  1. Sign in to the app.
  2. Click the hamburger menu button.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. In the Settings menu, click the switch next to Early Access so it says it is “ON.”

How to use the Proton VPN beta for macOS

To use the Proton VPN beta on your Mac:

  1. Sign in to the app.
  2. Click Proton VPN in the toolbar.
  3. Click Preferences….
  4. In the Settings menu, click the switch next to Early Access so it says it is “ON.”

How to use the Proton VPN beta for Android

You can sign up for the Proton VPN beta for Android by following these simple steps:

  1. Navigate to the Proton VPN Google Play site(nouvelle fenêtre).
  2. Scroll to the bottom.
  3. Click the I’m in button to join the beta program.

Or, you can:

  1. Follow this link: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/ch.protonvpn.android(nouvelle fenêtre).
  2. Sign up using your Google Play account credentials.

How to use the Proton VPN beta for iOS/iPadOS

To participate in the Proton VPN beta program on your iPhone or iPad:

  1. Download and install the TestFlight app(nouvelle fenêtre).
  2. Open this link on your iOS/iPadOS device.
  3. You will be guided through the necessary steps for joining the Proton VPN iOS Beta program. Select Previous Builds to access the Beta version and update it to the latest one provided.

How to get updates

When new versions of your Proton VPN client are available, you’ll be prompted to automatically update the app. Of course, you can manually check for updates by following the instructions here(nouvelle fenêtre).

How to report bugs and feedback

We welcome your feedback about beta updates! You can contact the Support team using our Support Form(nouvelle fenêtre) (recommended) or by emailing us at support@protonvpn.zendesk.com. By sharing your thoughts and issues, you are helping us make changes to Proton VPN to better serve the community.
