ProtonVPN has eight VPN servers in Ukraine.

We added Ukraine to the Proton VPN network!

The eight new servers in Kiev will let anyone browse the Internet privately and securely with a Ukrainian IP address. Ukraine is the 36th country we have installed servers in, helping us reach more people around the globe.

As Internet censorship(nouvelle fenêtre) and even outright Internet shutdowns(nouvelle fenêtre) become more common, it is essential that you use a trustworthy VPN(nouvelle fenêtre) to maintain access to the Internet. Proton VPN makes it more difficult for your Internet service provider (ISP) or government to restrict your online freedom of speech or access to information. When you connect to a Proton VPN server, your Internet traffic is encrypted so that your ISP cannot monitor your browsing activity. With Proton VPN, you are free to browse the Internet as you please.

We installed our eight new VPN servers in a data center in Kiev. They are available to users on one of our paid plans(nouvelle fenêtre). Each new server we install increases our capacity for new users and improves service for our current users.

UA#1-3 are available on our Basic plan

UA#4-8 are available on our Plus and Visionary plans

Why servers in Ukraine are useful

Freedom House’s 2017 Freedom on the Net(nouvelle fenêtre) report states that “Ukrainian businesses, government websites, and national infrastructure are frequently subject to cyberattack.” Our servers in Ukraine allow Ukranian users to connect to a VPN while still having a Ukranian IP address. This way, they can encrypt their Internet traffic and browse the Internet securely, even if they are using public WiFi.

Users with a Proton VPN Plus or Visionary plan can add another layer of protection by activating our Secure Core feature. When you use Secure Core(nouvelle fenêtre), your traffic is first routed through hardened servers that are controlled and owned by Proton VPN. Then it is forwarded to an exit server in the country of your choice. Routing your traffic through two VPN servers makes it even more difficult for attackers to discover your true IP address. With Proton VPN’s Secure Core, you can browse the Internet securely, even in the face of advanced network attacks.
