ProtonVPN has eight servers in Argentina.

Argentina is our second country in South America

Argentina has been a popular request from the Proton VPN community. They have one dedicated fan in particular:

We’re happy to oblige. These new VPN servers in Argentina will complement our Brazil servers by increasing the bandwidth available to our users in South America.

This expansion comes amid our push to add more servers(new window) to deal with the increase in Internet traffic that has resulted from the COVID-19 lockdowns. With the addition of Argentina, Proton VPN now has servers in 49 countries around the world.

We installed eight new VPN servers in data centers in Buenos Aires.

They are available to users on one of our paid plans(new window). Each new server we install increases our capacity for new users and improves service for our current users.

AR#1-3 are available on our Basic plan.
AR#4-8 are available on our Plus and Visionary plans.

The benefits of Argentina VPN servers

Argentina’s Internet was rated “Free” in Freedom House’s 2019 Freedom on the Net report(new window). The report stated that Argentinians “generally experience unfettered access to online content and high engagement on social media.”

With these servers, anyone outside of Argentina can connect and browse the Internet with an Argentinian IP address. This lets you access your favorite local and geo-blocked content no matter where you are.

To add extra security to your Internet connection, Proton VPN Plus or Visionary users can activate our Secure Core(new window) feature. Secure Core adds another layer of security to your online activity. First, it routes your Internet traffic through a hardened server before sending it on to an exit server in your desired country. These hardened servers are controlled and owned by Proton VPN, making it less likely that an attacker could access them. By routing your traffic through two servers, Proton VPN offers you protection from even advanced network attacks.
