Why you should stream with a BBC iPlayer VPN

There's no subscription friction to watching BBC iPlayer, so don’t settle for network friction either. BBC iPlayer runs live simulcasts of BBC channels alongside its on-demand library, which puts greater loads on networks. If you’re using shared WiFi, such as in offices or coliving spaces, streaming traffic can be limited or capped to manage bandwidth. Proton VPN encrypts your traffic, so those restrictions don't single you out.

Why choose Proton VPN for BBC iPlayer?

Stream with ultra-fast VPN speeds

Our VPN Accelerator boosts VPN speeds by up to 400%, so you don't have to compromise a fast stream for a protected one, even on a full network.

Avoid stutters on BBC iPlayer live streams

An unoptimized VPN can add its own overhead, resulting in more stutters than usual. Our Plus servers are optimized for streaming, so playback is more likely to hold up while watching live.

Skip the network gatekeepers

Network administrators shouldn’t get to decide if you can stream. Proton VPN routes your traffic through an encrypted VPN tunnel, bypassing network blocks, so those blocks don’t single you out.

Keep your streaming habits to yourself

Some ISPs use browsing and streaming data to build a profile of you, which can be sold to advertisers or data brokers. Proton VPN encrypts your connection, so what you watch stays private.
