ProtonVPN
ProtonVPN has four VPN servers in Costa Rica.

Proton VPN is expanding its options in the Americas. The four new servers in San José will reduce latency and improve service for users in Central America and the Caribbean. Costa Rica(新しいウィンドウ) is the 37th country we have installed servers in. No matter where you live, Proton VPN has a server nearby to provide you with online privacy and security.

We installed our four new VPN servers in a data center in San José. They are available to users on one of our paid plans(新しいウィンドウ). Each new server we install increases our capacity for new users and improves service for our current users.

CR#1 is available on our Basic plan.
CR#2-4 are available on our Plus and Visionary plans.

Why servers in Costa Rica are useful

Costa Rica has been one of the world leaders in protecting human rights, including digital rights. They have actively campaigned for free expression, association, assembly, and privacy online. In 2010, the Costa Rican Supreme Court ruled that Internet access is a fundamental right(新しいウィンドウ) for all its citizens. In 2020, San José will host RightsCon(新しいウィンドウ), where politicians and industry leaders from all over the world meet to discuss human rights in the digital age.

Our servers will allow Costa Ricans to exercise their right to keep their online activity secure and private while still using a Costa Rican IP address.

Users with a Proton VPN Plus or Visionary plan can add another layer of protection to their online activity by using our Secure Core feature. With Secure Core, your traffic is first sent to a hardened server that is controlled and owned by Proton VPN. Then it is forwarded to an exit server in the country of your choice. By sending your traffic through two VPN servers, you make it even more difficult for advanced attackers to discover your true IP address.
