We installed new VPN servers in Chile

We’re expanding our network into South America! We also added servers in Colombia and Peru, in addition to these servers in Chile. With these three additions, Proton VPN now has servers in 54 countries around the globe. You can connect to these new servers in Chile to access geo-blocked content and protect your Internet traffic from being monitored.

We installed eight new VPN servers in a data center in Santiago, Chile.

They are available to users on one of our paid plans. Each new server we install increases our capacity for new users and improves service for our current users.

The benefits of Chilean VPN servers

Want to have a virtual residence in Chile? These servers will let anyone outside of the country, no matter where they are, browse the Internet with a Chilean IP address and access geo-restricted content on Chilean websites. For example, these servers will let you stream content from the website of the Canal 13 TV channel.

If you are currently located in Chile, using one of our Chilean VPN servers will help protect your online activity from surveillance by Internet service providers and network administrators.

By connecting to these new servers, you can browse the Internet as though you are in Chile and protect your Internet traffic with an extra layer of encryption.

More about Proton VPN and how to sign up

Proton VPN is a secure, community-supported VPN service. It was developed by the same team that created Proton Mail, the world’s largest encrypted email provider. We offer the only free VPN service that does not have data caps, bandwidth limits, privacy-invading ads, or log user activity.

Our security and privacy tools will always be free. This is a crucial part of our mission to bring online freedom to everyone.

All Proton VPN apps are open source and have undergone a thorough audit by the security firm SEC Consult. We made our apps open source because it demonstrates our dedication to transparency. Anyone can review our apps’ code and ensure they do exactly what we claim they do. This transparency also enhances our apps’ security, as cybersecurity experts from all over the world can now scrutinize our code. This means potential vulnerabilities are quickly spotted and fixed. We do this so that you can be confident that our apps will keep your online browsing secure and private.
